It's been twelve years, it seems like yesterday

Gone so soon, still so much life to live

I remember the good times, the baseball summers, and weekends at the lake

Some days I smile and laugh, others bring only tears and sorrow

What a man, what a life, my best friend, my whole world

So today, this day, Thanksgiving day 12 years later, I remember

Time has passed and the wound continues to heal

I remember a man who meant the world to me.

 

This post is being written in appreciation of a close friend of mine who is walking this journey of "I don't know's" with me. We don't spend as much time together as I'd like, but when those times happen, there is an unbelieveable amount of connectedness and camaraderie among us. Our conversations relate life, faith, relationships (or more typically the lack thereof), and the transiency we're both finding in life right now. There is something unspeakable about a friend like that. Praise God for friends along the journey.
